Jack is the Economic Development Director for the City of Winslow. In this capacity, Jack works with developers, prospective businesses, entrepreneurs, and others to help create high-quality job opportunities for his community. He has eight years of experience in the economic development and municipal administration fields. Prior positions include the Business Attraction Manager and Management Analyst for the City of Flagstaff. Jack graduated from the University of Arizona with a master’s degree in public administration, a bachelor’s degree in political science with an emphasis in international relations, and a minor in economics. He has also received his state economic development certification from AAED and is an active member of the organization. Jack has been a member of AAED for five years, serving on several committees, and has sat on the AAED Board of Directors for the last two years. He hopes you will consider him for reelection so he may continue to provide a vital rural perspective to this organization’s leadership team.
Please describe your involvement in AAED.
In 2024, I developed and executed the business marketing course for the AAED Pro program. I was also the first mentor for the accelerated AAED Pro cohort. I regularly participate in committees and help plan events for the organization.
Which committees have you served on?
Rural (current Board Liaison), Northern (past Board Liaison), Professional Education, and as a current Board Member.
Why do you want to serve as a member of the AAED Board of Directors?
I want to ensure that rural Arizona continues to have a voice as this Board works to further economic development efforts in Arizona. I believe that I have the experience and skill set to assist AAED’s progress into the future. I have provided immense time, energy, and leadership to this organization because I believe AAED positively impacts all of Arizona and its residents.
