Heath Anderson, MEd, AZED Pro
Outreach and Workforce Development Specialist
Western Electrical Contractors Association
Member since 2014

Heath Anderson joined the Western Electrical Contractors Association to lead Outreach and Workforce Development for its Arizona expansion. There, he works with contractors, education institutions, and community partners to develop talent pipelines and career opportunities in the Arizona construction Industry. Prior to WECA, he worked for more than ten years for Maricopa County Workforce Development. There, he connected employers and job seekers in every occupation and industry serving Arizona. In that time, it was the skilled trades, such as construction and manufacturing, that became his focus due to their long-term reliability and transferability for workers, which led him to his work today. In the years leading up to this, he spent two decades in business development, representing clients such as Master Foods and Merc Pharmaceuticals in large-format retail with Walmart, Kroger, Safeway, and Albertsons. He holds a bachelor’s degree in human resources and a master’s degree in education design, along with several post-master’s certificates, including AAED’s AZED Pro. Arizona has been his home for 42 years, and he continues to seek ways to support our community.

Please describe your involvement in AAED.

Over the last twelve years, I have worked to be involved with AAED as much as my duties would allow. I have supported AAED in a variety of ways, including: support and volunteering at a range of member events, serving on and leading committees, earning and speaking at AZED Pro credential events, and, in the last two years, serving the membership as a Board Member.

Which committees have you served on?

Workforce, Professional Education, and Government Affairs Committee.

Why do you want to serve as a member of the AAED Board of Directors?

I have gained an immeasurable benefit of knowledge and connection through my membership. I have truly loved being a member of the Board being able to give back and support our membership. I would really appreciate the opportunity to continue in this work and be an asset to the growth of the organization and and a value to its members.
