Please describe your involvement in AAED.
To date, I have served as an AAED Board member, participated in four committees, attended fall and spring conferences, board meetings, special events such as Legislative Lunch on the Lawn and the Creating Cultural Safe Spaces workshop, helped to plan and attend the PHX Summit, facilitated a member tour to the Palo Verde power plant and acted as a mentor meeting mentees monthly for the past two years. I have also completed the AZED Pro and AZ Basic Economic Development Course (BEDC).
Which committees have you served on?
Greater PHX Events, Finance, Rural Committee, and Nominating Committees.
Why do you want to serve as a member of the AAED Board of Directors?
I feel incredibly tied to the mission of AAED—serving as a trusted leader for Arizona’s economic development community and promoting a vibrant and diverse economy. AAED has been an immeasurable source of professional development and has helped me connect with practitioners across the state, which is tremendously valuable in my role at APS. I appreciate every opportunity to engage and connect with members across AZ to help support and champion their individual and community needs. Serving on the board allows me to elevate these needs. I also appreciate the advocacy AAED provides on behalf of its members and would like to continue contributing to these efforts. Finally, expanding our education and mentorship initiatives is very special to me, and I want to see our organization continue to grow these programs for our community leaders and partner organizations to deepen the collective understanding of healthy economic development. I look forward to building more collaborative partnerships, delivering on statewide programming, and promoting deeper engagement across the AAED network.
