Please describe your involvement in AAED.
When I joined the Town of Gilbert Office of Economic Development, one of my first priorities was to become actively involved with AAED. From the start, I immersed myself in events and committee work, helping plan the Phoenix Summit during my first year. I also contributed to the AAED and Phoenix Suns Workforce event at the Footprint Center, which was an incredible opportunity to connect economic development with workforce initiatives. In my second year, I stepped into a leadership role as Co-Vice Chair and now proudly serve as Chair of the Greater Phoenix Committee. In this role, we focus on planning engaging events and creating opportunities for members to connect and collaborate. These experiences have not only allowed me to contribute to AAED’s mission but have also helped me grow professionally and build meaningful relationships with peers and industry leaders. I completed my AZED Pro designation in October 2023, further strengthening my knowledge and commitment to the profession. I regularly attend AAED events, including the golf tournament, spring and fall conferences, networking opportunities, and volunteer activities. In 2024, I was honored to receive the AAED EDDE Award for New Member of the Year, which I view as a reflection of my dedication and active involvement in the organization. Serving on the AAED Board would allow me to continue giving back through servant leadership and advancing initiatives that strengthen economic development across Arizona.
Which committees have you served on?
Greater Phoenix Committee (Formerly the Summit Committee/the Events committee).
Why do you want to serve as a member of the AAED Board of Directors?
I am excited to express my interest in serving on the AAED Board. My passion for economic development and commitment to advancing AAED’s mission have guided my involvement with the organization for several years. Currently, I serve as Chair of the Greater Phoenix Committee following my previous role as Vice Chair, where I worked diligently to strengthen member engagement and deliver impactful programming that supports the growth of our industry. These roles have provided me with valuable experience in leadership, collaboration, and strategic planning, all of which I hope to bring to the Board. My leadership philosophy is rooted in servant leadership, which means putting the needs of others first, empowering members to succeed, and ensuring that every initiative serves the greater good of the organization. I believe that true leadership is about listening, supporting, and creating opportunities for others to thrive. Serving on the AAED Board would allow me to continue this approach on a broader scale, helping guide the organization’s vision and priorities while supporting committees and members in achieving their goals. I am eager to contribute my experience, energy, and dedication to the Board, working alongside other committed professionals to strengthen AAED’s impact across Arizona. Thank you for considering my interest in this important role.
