Summary
Pima County Economic Development is seeking qualified consultants to develop a comprehensive asset map of aerospace and defense companies and their adjacent industry partners in Southern Arizona. This foundational research project will create a centralized database to enhance regional supply chain development, research collaboration, and strategic economic planning.
Project Overview:
- Scope: Map aerospace/defense companies and adjacent industries (optics, photonics, manufacturing, R&D, supply chain) in Southern Arizona, with primary emphasis on Pima County
- Duration: 14 weeks from kickoff to final deliverables
- Budget: Not to exceed $10,000
- Phases: Research & data collection, verification & validation, database development & analysis, and final deliverable creation
Key Deliverables:
- Comprehensive database with detailed company profiles including contact information, operational data, certifications, and supply chain indicators
- Executive summary report (15-25 pages) with key findings and recommendations
- Geographic analysis with visual mapping and cluster identification
- Supply chain gap analysis
- Methodology guide for replication
- Contact database in multiple formats (Excel, CSV)
- Visual asset map showing ecosystem relationships
Required Qualifications:
- At least 3 examples of industry ecosystem mapping or cluster analysis projects
- Experience in aerospace/defense sector research
- Demonstrated database development and data visualization capabilities
- Understanding of ITAR, AS9100, and defense industrial base considerations
Proposal Requirements: Submit a single PDF (not exceeding 30 pages excluding supporting materials) including: detailed workplan and timeline, organization profile and key personnel, relevant work examples with references, technical approach and methodology, and itemized cost proposal.
