Why did you become an AAED member?
Crisi joined AAED to advance her career. She started in her role two years ago, and Steve Ayers suggested she join to learn more about economic development.
What do you enjoy most about being an AAED member?
Crisi appreciates the forums, engaging topics, and networking opportunities. She values the ability to connect with experienced professionals in various circumstances.
What most excites you about living and working in Arizona?
Originally from rural Pennsylvania, Crisi loves the sunshine in Arizona. She appreciates the state’s diversity, describing it as a melting pot with people moving from all over the country. The outdoor recreation opportunities, including hiking and kayaking, are also major attractions for her.
How did you come to work in economic development?
After working in a factory for 17 years and then in sales, Crisi sought career growth. She applied for her current position, drawn to the opportunity to help provide workplaces and promote tourism. She’s passionate about keeping young families in town rather than seeing them move away.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
Hiking is Crisi’s favorite outdoor activity, which she does almost every weekend when snakes aren’t active.
What’s your favorite Arizona location for a weekend trip?
Crisi enjoys Flagstaff’s cooler climate. She also appreciates staying local and frequenting Cottonwood for wine tasting and restaurants. Her favorite restaurant is Moscato’s, an Italian place on Main Street known for its great wine and freshly prepared food.
Favorite holiday and why?
While Halloween was her longtime favorite, Crisi now prefers Christmas for the family togetherness it brings.
Why Camp Verde?
Camp Verde is the fastest-growing municipality in the Verde Valley. It boasts extensive outdoor recreation opportunities, including two state parks. The town features 11 restaurants on Main Street, Montezuma Castle, Out of Africa Wildlife Park, and three wine tasting rooms. Notable attractions include the Pecan Spring Festival and Alcantara Vineyards, listed as one of America’s top 10 wedding venues. Visitors can stay at several hotels off I-17 or at Cliff Castle Casino.
