Please describe your involvement in AAED.

Over the past seven years, I have been an active and engaged member of AAED, contributing to its mission through leadership, committee participation, event attendance, and educational efforts. In FY21, I served as Chair of the Workforce Committee, leading discussions and initiatives focused on workforce development strategies to support Arizona’s growing industries. Additionally, I have actively participated in the Government Affairs, Awards, and Emerging Leaders committees, collaborating with peers to shape policy discussions, recognize outstanding contributions to economic development, and mentor the next generation of professionals in the field. Beyond committee involvement, I have regularly attended AAED conferences and networking events, staying engaged with industry trends and strengthening relationships with economic development professionals across the state. My commitment to professional development extends to the AAED Academy, where I have attended, taught, and helped plan courses. These sessions help equip professionals with the knowledge and skills to advance Arizona’s economic development initiatives. Through these efforts, I have demonstrated a strong commitment to advancing AAED’s mission, supporting workforce and business development, and fostering collaboration among public and private sector stakeholders.

Which committees have you served on?

Workforce, Government Affairs, Awards, and Emerging Leaders.

Why do you want to serve as a member of the AAED Board of Directors?

I am eager to serve on the AAED Board of Directors and contribute to the organization’s mission of Educating, Advocating, and Collaborating while giving back to the economic development community that has played a vital role in my professional growth. Education has been a cornerstone of my involvement with AAED, from attending and teaching AAED Academy sessions to actively participating in committees that shape workforce and industry strategies. I want to continue fostering learning opportunities that equip professionals with the knowledge and tools to drive economic success across Arizona. Advocacy is critical to ensuring that economic development policies support sustainable growth and business attraction. My experience with the Government Affairs Committee has reinforced my commitment to championing policies that benefit Arizona’s economy and communities. I aim to strengthen AAED’s voice at the local and state levels. Collaboration is at the heart of AAED, and I deeply value the network of professionals who have supported my journey. Serving on the Board would allow me to give back to this community, facilitate meaningful relationships, and help shape the future of economic development in Arizona. By joining the Board, I hope to serve, support, and uplift fellow economic developers just as they have done for me, ensuring that AAED continues to be a leading force in Arizona’s economic prosperity.
